What if odo can't find an address?

Why it happens

odo looks up addresses and named places — a business, an airport — in the US. A spot with neither — a job site, a field, a new build — does not come up, and neither does one outside the US or one with a typo. The search then says Nothing matches and asks you to check the spelling.

Save the spot as a place

1. Open Settings → Named places → Add place
2. Tap My location doesn't have an address — pick on map
3. Move the map until the pin sits on the spot, and save it with a name

Saved places come first in the From and To search, so the spot is there by name from then on — and a drive that ends there is filed under it.

A drive that ends there is filed under that name from then on. Add a drive on the site looks up addresses and places, not your saved ones, so for a drive you add there, type the nearest address.

If the lookup is unavailable

Now and then the address service itself does not answer, and the search says Address lookup is unavailable right now. It is not your connection or your address — try again in a minute. Saved places still come up in the app while it is down.
