No. The free plan needs an email address and nothing else, and it does not expire — it caps at 35 drives a month.
One journey, from the car starting to move to it stopping. A day of eight stops is eight drives; a round trip out and back is two.
From monthly to yearly, yes: from your subscription settings on the site. The card is charged that day for the year, less the unused part of the month already paid for. In a free trial or other free time nothing is charged until the free time ends. From yearly to monthly, the same page books the move for the day the year you paid for ends, and nothing is charged before then. A plan bought in the App Store or Google Play is changed in the store, and the store sets what is charged and when.
It carries the four things a mileage log has to show for each drive — date, distance, where you went and why — with the year totaled at the standard rate in force on each date.
Nothing is deleted because you stopped paying. You keep access to your history, can export all of it, and the free cap applies to new drives from then on.
