Do I have to add a vehicle first?
You already have one
No — creating your account created a vehicle too. It is called My Car, it is already your default, and drives are logged against it from the very first trip. An account always keeps one vehicle: the last one cannot be hidden.
Making it yours
Rename it to something you will recognise in a list. Make, model, year and type are optional:
- In OdoTax, open Settings → Vehicles
- Tap your car — My Car, until you rename it
- Change the Name, and add make, model, year or type if you want them
- Tap Save

If you drive more than one car
Add a second vehicle when you drive more than one car or van for work — the report then keeps the log per vehicle. Default vehicle decides which one a drive lands on when nothing else says:
- In OdoTax, open Settings → Vehicles
- Tap + at the top right
- Give it a name, or a make and model, and switch Default vehicle on if it is the car you drive most
- Tap Add vehicle
On an iPhone, a Shortcuts automation can tell OdoTax which car you got into, so its drives go on it: see Can OdoTax tell my cars apart by Bluetooth?
