Tracking stopped working
Check that tracking is on
In OdoTax, open Settings and look at the Tracking section:
- Auto-tracking should be on
- If Pause auto-tracking reads Paused — resume, tap it and tap Resume now
A pause also shows on the Home tab, with a Resume button.
The screen that checks for you
Settings → Tracking configuration checks everything detection depends on, live: each item with a green tick or a red issue, and a button that takes you to the fix.

The usual suspects
Nine times out of ten it is one setting, switched by an update or by accident. In the iPhone’s Settings, scroll down to OdoTax and check:
- Location → Always
- Location → Precise Location on
- Motion & Fitness on
Always is what lets iOS wake OdoTax when a drive begins, even after the app was swiped away, and without Precise Location no drive can be recorded at all. Tracking configuration shows both, and Low Power Mode as a warning while it is on.
The usual suspects
Nine times out of ten it is one phone setting, switched by an update or a battery saver rather than by you. In the phone’s Settings, find OdoTax and check:
- Permissions → Location → Allow all the time
- Permissions → Physical activity → Allow
- App battery usage → Unrestricted
On Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo phones there is one more: Autostart, usually under Other permissions, has to be on. Tracking configuration shows it when your phone has it.
Still nothing
All green and still no drives? Send a message — a person will look. Each permission is walked through, with pictures, in How do I turn automatic tracking on?
On the web
Drives are recorded by the phone, so this is fixed on the phone: open the iPhone or Android tab above. The web account shows every drive the phone has uploaded.
