What location data do you actually keep?
What a drive keeps
The route itself. While a drive is under way the phone records its GPS points, and odo keeps them with the drive: the points, the line drawn along the roads from them, where the drive started and ended and those two addresses, the distance and the times. Then what you add — the category, the purpose, notes, parking and tolls, the vehicle. The map picture on each drive is drawn from the same route.
What is not kept
Where you are between drives. odo records only while a drive is under way; the rest of the time the phone waits for the next drive to start and sends no positions anywhere.
Who else sees it
Nothing about where you drive is sold. A few services do work on it for odo: a map service fits the recorded points to the roads, and a geocoder turns the two ends into addresses. The privacy policy lists who they are and what they may do with it — which is only that job.
What else is kept
The places you named, your frequent drives, the contacts you send reports to, and the phones signed in to your account — the model and the system and app versions — so a problem on one of them can be found. If you locate a phone from the web account, the position it answers with is kept for 30 days.
When you delete
A deleted drive goes at once, with its map pictures. A closed account is removed for good 30 days after it is closed — see How do I delete my account?.
