How do I change my name or picture?

What they are for

Your name is what OdoTax calls you in the app and in emails. When you email a report to someone else, the email is titled with it: “Alex Driver’s business mileage report for August 2026”. Your picture stands beside your name at the top of Settings, in the top corner of Home, Drives and Reports, and in your web account. Neither changes how you sign in: that is your email address — see How do I change my email address?.

Change your name

1. In OdoTax, open Settings and tap Edit on your name at the top
2. Tap your name
3. Type the new one and tap Save

Save stays pale until the name is a different one. In the app a name can be up to 60 characters.

Change your picture

1. Open Settings and tap Edit on your name at the top
2. Tap Edit on the picture
3. Tap Choose from library and pick a photo — or Take photo, which asks to use the camera the first time
4. Under Move and scale, drag the photo and pinch to zoom until the frame holds what you want
5. Tap Use photo

The button reads Saving… while the picture uploads, then Avatar updated shows. OdoTax keeps a small square copy of the photo and deletes the picture it replaces. To take the picture down, tap Edit on it and choose Remove avatar: Avatar removed shows, and the first letter of your name stands in for it. Changing the name or the picture needs a connection.

Without a picture

Until you add one, OdoTax shows the first letter of your name on a coloured square. Tap that square at the top of Settings and Change avatar opens straight away. Once you have a picture, a tap on it there opens it full size.

In the browser

1. Sign in at my.odo.tax and open Settings → Profile
2. Click Name, type the new one and click Save
3. For the picture, click Upload photo — Change photo once you have one — choose a file, frame it and click Use photo

A photo can be a JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP up to 8 MB. Remove takes the picture down, and your initials stand in for it. It is the same name and picture as in the app: change them in one place and they change in the other.

Is my name printed on reports?

No. A report’s PDF shows your account’s email address and leaves Taxpayer name blank for you to write in — the name on a tax return is not always the one on an OdoTax account. Only the email that carries a report to someone else is titled with your name.
