How do I rename or delete a purpose?

Past drives keep their label

Every purpose in Custom purposes can be renamed, hidden or deleted, the ones OdoTax started you with too. A drive keeps the words it was filed under, so renaming or deleting a purpose never changes your log. A frequent drive that sets the purpose takes its new name, as long as the purpose stays in its category.

Rename it

1. In OdoTax, open Settings → Custom purposes
2. Tap the purpose — a personal one is under Personal
3. Type the new Name; the Category and the Icon can change here too
4. Tap Save

Rename it

1. Sign in at my.odo.tax and open Settings → Custom purposes
2. Click the purpose
3. Type the new Name and click Save changes

Hide or delete it

1. In OdoTax, open Settings → Custom purposes and tap the purpose
2. Tap … at the top right
3. Tap Hide to take it off your purpose pickers, or Delete purpose and then Delete

A hidden purpose stays in Custom purposes, marked Hidden: open it and tap Show again to bring it back. If a frequent drive sets the purpose, the delete question names it and offers Hide instead. Deleted, the purpose comes off that frequent drive, which then files drives with no purpose.

Hide or delete it

2. Click ⋮ on the purpose’s row
3. Choose Hide to take it off your purpose pickers, or Delete and then Delete again

A hidden purpose stays in the list, marked Hidden; Show again in the same menu brings it back. If a frequent drive sets the purpose, the delete question lists it and offers Hide instead. Deleted, the purpose comes off that frequent drive, which then files drives with no purpose.
